Welcome to the bookbinding section of my site. I hope you enjoy the images of a selection of bindings from the last thirty years.

I began bookbinding in August 1977 as an apprenticed bookbinder, to The Eddington Bindery, Hungerford, Berkshire (thank you all),

at the grand old age of sixteen. At this time my future was already cast in stone, a devout hippy and not content with that, a drummer too.

In 1977 the prospect of a five year apprenticeship seamed an eternity to endure! alas, thirty years have passed somewhat quicker than I'd

anticipated five would and here we are in 2008 and I guess it's a year I should be having a Jack Daniels or two to celebrate, not purely because

of a landmark in my own small piece of bookbinding history, but because the art of balancing my many creative outlets has been fun!

I'll have a large one landlord!
